February 21st NESCA Meeting

Please join us on Feb 21st for the next NESCA meeting. One of the items on the agenda will be a presentation by State of OR Dept of Administrative Services regarding the State Hospital property north of Center Street to D Street. This will be the first meeting on this subject and we hope you can come out to hear the presentation.

NESCA street Clean-Up April 23rd

Join us on Saturday, April 23rd, for our first street clean-up of the year. We meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Park - n - Ride lot on the NW corner of Market Street and Hawthorne Avenue. It doesn't take much time and it's good for our neighborhood. See you there.

McKay Park Project

I am happy to report that fundraising effort for McKay Park was successful and the project will be completed this summer. In fact, part of the project has already been completed. Earlier this month, the ball wall, also known by the community as the graffiti wall, was removed. Here are some pictures of the demolition.

Street Clean up April 23rd

Please join us on Saturday, April 23rd for our first street clean-up of 2011. We will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Park-n-Ride on the NE corner of Hawthorne Avenue and Market Street. All materials are provided. Just show up and help us pick up litter along Hawthorne Avenue. Hope to see you there.

McKay Community Park

The final push to raise funds for the upgrades to McKay Park is on. All donations are tax-deductible through the Salem Parks Foundation. Attached is a link to the article that ran in the Statesman Journal on November 17th about the fundraising effort.

December Meeting Cancelled

The December 21st meeting of NESCA is cancelled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be January 18th, 2011. Please have a happy and safe holiday season.

Street Clean-up

The next Adopt-a-Street cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, August 21st. I hope everyone can join us at 8:30 a.m. at the Market Street Park-n-Ride, NW corner of Market and Hawthorne.

Summer Meeting Schedule

The NESCA board has decided to cancel the July 20th meeting and also the August 17th meeting. The next scheduled meeting of NESCA will be September 21st. If anyone needs to reach us during that time, please send an email.

Adopt-a-Street

The next adopt-a-street cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, June 19th. Please meet at the Park-n-Ride lot on the northeast corner of Market and Hawthorne at 8:30 a.m.
